Cassidy Set to Surrender to Police on Murder Charges

On April 15th, Barry Reese, known informally as the rapper “Cassidy,” found himself amidst a dispute in his West Philadelphia neighborhood. A result of that dispute left 22 year old Desmond Hawkins dead and two other men with less serious gunshot wounds. Authorities say that “Cassidy” and two other men were armed with an arsenal of weapons, including AK-47’s. Hawkins allegedly died from a gunshot wound to the back.
“Cassidy” is expected to surrender to the authorities in connection with this murder on Friday, and is likely to face charges of conspiracy, homicide, and weapons possession. An additional warrant is out for the arrest of Abdul West, allegedly one of the gunman, while the third shooter is unknown.
