For those that don't know, now you know. J Dilla was a fucking musical genius. He was far more than a beatsmith... dude was a producer and artist in the truest sense of the word and I'm going to miss not only what I got out of his music, but also what the rest of the world will never be able to get back. So, apparently we're doing something right on this site. The New York Times referenced a SoundSlam article last week and then word has been born that The Stephen Colbert Report (on Comedy Central) even cited the same story on the Monday, Jan. 9th show. Crazy shit, huh. Let's keep it movin'. |

I'm curious about everyone's predictions for 2006... This year we saw a lot of older, veteran artists making big moves for themselves (putting out ill records, making their presence known again, delivering high quality music, yet under the radar), such as Common, AZ, OC, Sean Price, CL Smooth's apparent return, etc. What artists... young or old or whatever...will be making the most noise in the next 12 months? |
